Balranald Day Care Facility

Balranald Day Care Staff & ChildrenThis project involved the construction of a new Child Care Centre in Balranald. The development of the Centre met an unsatisfied demand for services within the growing community. The Centre will support existing services such as the Pre-school and will provide numerous ongoing economic and social benefits within the wider Balranald community.
Amount approved: $131,010

Balranald Theatre Royal Complex Redevelopment

This project involves the redevelopment of the old Theatre Royale building in Balranald, which once redeveloped, will be made available for use by businesses and the community, for cultural, commercial and civic activities. The redeveloped of a significant historical building aimed to create employment opporunities, increase local economic activity, improve the environmental impact of the old building, improve the streetscape and enhanced business confindence.
Amount approved: $250,360

Boundary Bend Development

The Swan Hill Rural City Council has sought Regional Partnerships funding to undertake planning and assessment works in Boundary Bend. The outcome of such works will be an overall urban design for the township which would include public infrastructure and an investment portfolio for the development of residential properites. The works were to be completed by the Urban Regional Lands Council to address the regional accommodation and infrastructure shortfall.

Four Post Youth Camp Upgrade

Launch of the Four Post Youth CampUpgrades to the Four Post Youth Camp were funded to increase the camp’s indoor accommodation by 62 beds to meet the increasing demand from large school groups and disability services. Regional Partnerships funding was obtained to contribute to the purchase of the transportable rooms, as well as the upgrade of some of the camp ammenities and facilities.

Kyabram Community Facility

The Kyabram Secondary College was successful in receiving Regional Partnerships programme funding for the construction of a shared community facility. The facility will be used not only by the College students, but also by local sporting clubs, and community groups such as scouts and guides. The facility will act as a resource centre and provide seminar and kitchen facilities.
Amount approved: $176,000 (Project did not proceed)

Moulamein Aquatic Precinct Development

The Wakool Shire Council received funding under the Regional Partnerships programme to assist with the construction of an ammenities, kiosk and office building in the Moulamein Aquatic Precinct. The project aimed to enhance opportunities for social participation in the community, economic opportunities and improve access to the range of activities on offer within the precinct.
Amount approved: $33,000

Quambatook Community Caravan Park

Works on the Quambatook Caravan ParkThe aim of the project was to move the bunkhouse-style accommodation from a failed eco-tourism venture to the Quanmatook Community Caravan Park. This would provide on-site accommodation for the frequent overflow of campers in the area. The accommodation would also be used to cater for the increase of tourists in the region and would allow for additional events to be held in Quambatook.
Amount approved: $36,036

Swan Hill Regional Information Centre Fit-Out

The Swan Hill Rural City Council received funding under the Regional Partnerships programme to assist with the fit-out of the new Swan Hill Visitor Information Centre. The new centre, which is located in the Swan Hill CBD, is much larger with improved accessibility and will help increase visitation and yield within the region by providing a greater range of information to visitors.
